Privacy Policy

Your details, in plain English.

No dense legal jargon. This page explains what details I collect, why, who handles them for me, how long I keep them, and the rights you have. If anything isn't clear, please ask.

SoloSiteStudio is run by Chris Cachia, a sole trader based in Banbury, Oxfordshire. For anything you send me through this site, I'm the "data controller" — the person responsible for looking after it. You can reach me any time at [email protected].

01 What I collect

Only what's needed to do the job:

  • Enquiry form — your name, contact details, your trade and area, and anything you type in the message
  • Website details form (if you go ahead) — your business details, services, reviews and photos for your site
  • Direct contact — if you email, text or call me, I'll have that correspondence
  • Payments — handled securely by Stripe; I never see or store your full card details

I don't collect anything in the background while you browse, and I don't run advertising trackers on this site.

02 Why I use it

Three reasons: to reply to your enquiry and talk through your build; to actually build, host and look after your website once you're a client (that's our contract); and to keep the basic business and tax records the law requires. If I'd like to show your finished site as an example of my work, that's covered in the terms and it's always your choice.

I don't sell your details, share them for marketing, or add you to a mailing list you didn't ask for.

03 Who handles it for me

Like most small businesses, I use a few trusted services to run things. They only process your details to do their specific job:

  • Tally — runs the enquiry and website details forms
  • Cloudflare — hosts this website and your website
  • Stripe — processes payments securely
  • Google — this site loads its fonts from Google's servers, and if I set up your Google Business Profile, that's held with Google

Some of these companies operate outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on recognised legal safeguards for transferring data.

04 Cookies

I don't set any tracking or advertising cookies myself. The embedded enquiry form may use essential cookies purely to work properly, and that's it. No cookie banner theatre needed.

05 How long I keep things

Enquiries that don't go anywhere: up to 12 months, then deleted. If you become a client: for as long as you're with me, plus the period UK tax law requires me to keep business records (currently up to six years). Your site files are kept for 12 months after you leave, as set out in the terms, in case you want them.

06 Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, delete it, or stop using it in certain ways. Just email me and I'll sort it — no forms, no fuss.

If you're ever unhappy with how I've handled your details, you have the legal right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

07 Changes to this page

If anything here changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top. Nothing sneaky.

This policy is written in plain English to be genuinely understandable. It sets out, in good faith, how SoloSiteStudio handles your information under UK data protection law.
